Valentine Prep

I am helping to coordinate Cooper's Valentine's Day party at school this year. Believe it or not, I am somehow managed to put myself into the main go-to person. For those that know me, this is a huge shock. Not that I am not a take charge type of person, I'm just not one to step on any one's toes. I have even turned down ideas cause I thought they were too much for 25 3 and 4 year old. I said no, that my friends is huge!

Micheal's was having a sale a couple of weeks ago on their foam crafts so I did some stocking up and I got some things of Oriental Trading. Cooper helped me prepare one of the crafts. We are going to have them decorate a foam heart with stickers and or glitter. I thought it would be more interesting to make it a magnet. I found these tiny magnet dots on Oriental Trading. They had bigger magnets but the reviews weren't all the great so I stuck with the smaller ones. Instead of having all the kids do this part themselves I thought it would be best to go ahead and stick them on there myself, they are small. Each heart got 4 magnets. Cooper was a big help. I found the next craft off of Oriental Trading as well. It is so hard to find Valentine ideas that are boyish. There is almost a 2 to 1 ratio of boys to girls in his class. I found the perfect craft. Decorate your own Valentine monster! It is super cute. Each kit comes with 4 different Monsters and a sheet of stickers for each one. You know how everything comes in packages of 12? Well they added a child in January to his class, he know has 25 kids. So of course I had to buy three, but that left us with monsters to play with.

Every girl needs her cell phone, even monsters!

I guess every 4 year old monster needs a cell phone too. And a giant eye ball on their ankle.

I am super excited for his party, it's going to be fun! Steve is even coming, he is leading Cupid Says. I tried to get him to dress up as cupid but that was a no-go. He took off work because he is going to the Pacers game that night. Yes, my husband is going to a basketball game on Valentine's Day. We aren't big Valentine people, but don't think I won't hang it over his head for a while. He's going with some buddies from work, two of which happen to have pregnant wives. They want to make a sign that says, "We left our pregnant wives at home on Valentine's Day to watch the Pacers beat the Heat". They just may make it on tv for that.

Super cute post! I'm proud of you for taking charge & saying no! I know that's a big step outside your comfort zone!
I love those monsters! Cute idea!
HAHA about Steve & the guys w/ preggo wives!
(Shocker, but we're not big Valentine's people either. I don't think you need 1 specific day to show someone you love them. Totally a hallmark holiday...)
