First Day of Wee Ones

It was Thursday morning and the day we had been counting day for was here... Wee Ones day!  Since Cooper started school 3 weeks ago Cameron has been itching for his turn.
He requested a bagel for breakfast. He eats a bagel almost everyday so it wasn't out of the ordinary or something special, but it's what he wanted.

Two days a week I get to drop both of them off.  5 whole hours a week to myself.  Not gonna lie, that sounds pretty good.

We dropped Cooper off and headed over to Wee Ones.  He seriously almost jumped out of the car he was so excited.  That is until we got inside and a teacher spoke to him and he jumped into my arms.

His train had his last name on it because there are two Cameron's in his class.  This is the first time that has happened to us, with either of our kids.

Backpack hook.

I walked him into his room, read a book to him, and told him I was leaving. He gave me a giant hug, some would say he was trying to squeeze my neck and head off, but I call it a hug.  I also got a kiss.
As I was leaving one of the teachers started talking to him and asked him his favorite superhero, he said Four, also known as Thor.

I picked him up later and he once again jumped into my arms.  I'm glad I still have one that isn't afraid to show me affection.
Some of the highlights included him being line leader and getting to hold the flag, telling Ms Amy that he wanted a hot dog for lunch and he likes to watch Harry Potter, and washing his hands with Ms Erica.

Cameron is a bit of a momma's boy, he had a great first day but I have a feeling we aren't out of the woods yet.  We shall see.

It's your turn to shine baby boy, so shine on.

1st day of 1st Grade

Boy was that summer quick!  Here we are again back into the swing of things.

Cooper was roaring to go last Thursday.  We had our traditional back to school breakfast of chocolate chip muffins and bacon.

Not be outdone, little brother needed his picture taken too.

I got all fancy and added a chalkboard this year.  I'm just too cool!

Again, little brother. Little brothers just never leave your side, do they?

No pictures inside the school this time, I guess we are a little cool for that.

I've been hesitant to blog about the first day, I wanted to come here and write how wonderful it all was just like last year.  To be honest, the first couple days were rough.  Friday morning was bad I almost kept him home. He hasn't come out and said he didn't want to go, but he was showing in other ways.  I think he just misses his friend.  He had a total of 10 boys in his class last year and 6 of them went into on classroom, 2 in another, and 2 in his.  Even though we prepared him for this all summer long, I'm sure in his mind he was picturing first grade just like kindergarten and all the kids he was comfortable with.  I found out who he had  the Friday before school started and although I didn't know all the kids in the class, I did the entire class list of the one that has the majority of his friends in it. I can't even begin to tell you how my heart dropped when I read that list and his name wasn't on it.  But, he is in his class for a reason I am sure in the long run things will turn out just fine.  Today was a much, much better day so we can only go up from here.

43 more school days till Fall Break!
