The sound game gone bad

Cooper likes to play the sound game. You know the game where you make noises with everyday items and the other person has to guess what the sound is. Usually we make the noise and Cooper guesses. He is quite good at it. Today he wanted to make the sounds. The funny thing when he makes the sounds is that he has to ask us to get it for him, then he tells us not to cheat. Okay, I won't look after I give you your battery powered Thomas train. HA! This morning he asked for the macaronni. This is what happened after one good shake.
It was a mess! However, the look on his face when the box popped open and macaronni noodles went flying was priceless. I not only took a picture for the blog I also grabbed my phone and sent a picture to Steve. Some messes are so worth it.

Stir Crazy

I have been going a bit stir crazy lately. I am ready for Spring. Snow really puts a wrinkle in my plans. It seems that since the new year it snows and Jazzercise is cancelled on the mornings we can go. I am in need a good work out. Speaking of working out, my friend Tracey has decided to walk the Triple Crown this year with her sister and some other friends. I have decided to join her. I would love to run this next year so this will be my trial to see the lay of the land. She mentioned possibly walking the mini as well. We will have to see on that. I have heard the mini is easier than the 10 miler. I know I can walk a 5k and 10k with no problems, but I'm going to have to break in some good shoes for the 10 miler. It needs to warm up so I can walk more.

We did get to enjoy some playtime at church on Wednesday. We had an indoor picnic and let the kids ride their bikes and run around the gym. I have a bad mom confession. Cooper cannot ride his tricycle yet. I'm not trying to make excuses for myself, it boils down to the combination of extreme heat and big preggo belly that I just didn't get out there enough with him this past summer. It is one of my first priorities come Spring.

Not many new pictures to post. I did make sausage Friday morning, Cooper could this everyday. He must have thought it was a special day because he has something other than Cheerios.

Pure Cuteness

This isn't the best picture but I had to share this outfit. My my mom bought Cameron this outfit for Christmas. Yes, that is a flannel onsie. It doesn't get much cuter than that.

Memory Verse

As I was dropping Cooper off to his classroom in church today they were preparing to say their memory verse. I knew that he would be doing this soon it just must have slipped my mind. This new class is from 3 and 4 yr olds and there a lot of kids in there and for some reason they send papers home. I thought I would get something letting me know his memory verse but that hasn't happened.

So, I thought would quiz him on the way home. I asked him if he remembered his memory verse and he says:

"Let the children come to me" Luke 18:16

Oh.My.Goodness!!! Probably the proudest moment I have had since becoming a mom. My three year old just quoted scripture to me.

Sample

Baby Dediction is coming up at church in a few weeks so I have been trying to get some good pics of Cameron smiling. Here a couple I took last week. Hopefully he can get over this cold and I can get a few more.
Of course Cooper had to get in on the action and give his brother a kiss.

Duck Duck Goose

I picked Cooper up from his classroom in church yesterday and some of the kids were playing Duck Duck Goose. Cooper was of sitting by himself. I realized we had never played Duck Duck Goose before so we played our own version after lunch. We added George and Mickey to the game. It's a little harder to get up off the ground at 31 than it was at 10.

4 Months

We had Cameron's 4 month well visit this morning. My how time flies!

He is weighing in at a healthy 14 lbs 6 oz (50th percentile)
25.5 inches (50th percentile)
and a nice round 75th percentile head circumference.

He is the same length now that Cooper was at 6 months. I'm not used to such a big kiddo.

He started get congested this weekend so I was able to get a free sick visit out this today. The doc didn't want to put him anything since he is so young but was afraid if she didn't we could be back in there a few days with an ear infection. She gave some decongestion drops so I am hoping my little guy starts to feel better soon.

She made the remark of how well his social and motor skills are. He kept smiling, laughing, and following her around, holding his head up. I didn't have a pen with me so I couldn't fill out my questionnaire. There was only one question this month: Can your baby lie on his belly and lift his head up 90 degrees. I told her I didn't have my pen but I'm sure you can answer that for me.
We have another appointment scheduled in March, I pray we can make it that long.

Thank You

I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers this week. I'm sorry I can't get to each one of you individually, however the prayers have not gone unheard.

Today was a day to try and return to normal. I still feel as if I am in a dream, it doesn't seem real yet. There is not a moment that goes by I don't think of my nieces and nephew and how their life has changed and the fact they are going to have to adjust to a new normal. My other sister Candiace who will always have a piece of herself missing. My niece Hailey who now must be split from her brother and sister. My brother-in-law Jason who faces life as a single dad of two. My life will return to normal, those mentioned will not.

I know many of you have prayed and I just ask that you continue to pray for those mentioned above. It's going to be a long hard road ahead but we serve an amazing Lord and He will see us through troubling times.

Dress Up

Cooper and Steve played dress up last night.

You are going to have to use your imagination on these:

This is Goliath. Cooper came out saying "who will fight me". If anyone has seen the Veggie Tales "God Made me Special" video, use that voice. This is Jerome. Jerome is someone Steve works with. He bought Steve that hat and I think he also plays the drums.
This is Darth Vadar. Once again, I don't really get it.

And finally, this is Dave Crowder. That is a construction paper goatee if you can't tell.

New Years

I don't have a single picture from New Years, probably because we pretty much did nothing.

We had big plans to go to the IU basketball game on New Years Eve but one certain little guy has decided to wake up multiple times a night again. Steve and I just couldn't gather the energy to drive back home that late and get in bed late. We ended up selling the tickets and using the money to help pay for a water heater. Yes, we spent New Years Eve shopping at Lowe's for a new water heater since ours is only producing at about 30%. We did eat dinner out then it was off to Target to stock up on diapers since I had multiple coupons about to expire. We were in bed by 9:30. I was up at midnight, and again at 2:30, again at 4:30, and again at 6:30. He slept better than this the first night home, I have no idea what is going on.

I started off New Years day with a good workout at Jazzercise. We relaxed the rest of the day and ended it with some Papa Murphy's pizza and movie night. We finally got around to watching Toy Story 3. Cooper can't sit still for a full length movie so we only made it about 45 minutes in, I'm anxious to finish it next weekend, it's very cute so far.

Here's hoping 2011 is a little more low key compared to 2010. Everyone had some sort of hospital stay in my family in this past year. I don't want a repeat of that, mine was for a good reason though :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
