Field Trip

Cameron had a quick little field trip up to Huber's on Monday.  With class only lasting 2 1/2 hours and the drive we only get to stay about an hour and a half.

He couldn't wait to ride with Layla on the bus.

Luckily I ran back inside and grabbed a hat and gloves, it was a little chilly up there.

These two are gonna be too much one day.

He had such a fun time.

He wanted to sit by his momma on the way home.

A quick update- we are all finally settled in at my mom's.  The first couple days we were super busy while still trying move everything out and close on the house.  The kids have done way better than I thought.  Well I knew Cameron would be fine, just give him his people and lots of hugs and he will be fine.  I was worried about Cooper, especially having to share a room, which he does not like, but he's doing wonderful. They seem to enjoy it.  Steve leaves for work before they get up and we are lucky if he is home for dinner so doesn't spend too much time here.  I thoroughly enjoy my quick trip to both schools.  My mom loves it.  She isn't going to want us to move.

We signed our contract yesterday and we have an estimated start date on the new house of Nov 12th and an estimate of 120 days to completion.  I'm expecting a few delays so I'm hoping we will be in sometime in April.  It's an adventure and we are living it up.

Disney Day 8- Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party

Friday was the day I had been looking forward to for year- Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Pat
The Halloween Party is a special ticketed event that the Magic Kingdom holds several nights a week beginning in mid September through the end of October. I have always, always wanted to go. Steve almost talked me out of it, it's expensive and the good stuff doesn't even begin till later in the evening. If you don't purchase a ticket they make you leave by 7, the party is so popular all remaining parties have been sold out.

We spent a couple hours at Epcot that morning just to kill some time and got to Magic Kingdom around 2.  Normally you can't get in till 4 for the party but we had a day left on our ticket.  I was so excited.

Words cannot express how much this kid loved Splash Mountain and I loved riding it with him. He would remind me to hold him during the big drop.

Gaston's Tavern.

We finally got our fastpass for 7 Dwarfs Mine Train.

We had some time so why not ride the carousel.

I love this of him waving.

Tea Cups.

We had dinner at Be Our Guest.

It's inside the Beast's castle

This place is breathtaking.

Be sure to try the grey stuff, it's delicious, don't believe me ask the dishes :)

During dinner you get the opportunity to meet the Beast.

After dinner we got our costumes on.  Go Hoosiers!!!

We had time for a few rides before the parade.  We did the early parade which begins at 8:30, next time I would skip this and do some rides and stick around for the later 11:15 parade.

The parade begins with the headless horseman.

My favorite float :)

Guess who fell asleep?  Rest assured he woke up and had more fun.

I didn't get any pictures of it but Haunted Mansion is super fun during the party.  They have someone out dressed as ghost interacting with the guests and special photo opportunities.  This is one reason I would skip the early parade cause everyone went straight to Haunted Mansion.

After that we split up, Cooper and Steve headed to Space Mountain again while Cameron and I did splash mountain.

As we were walking to meet up with Steve and Coop, the fireworks were going off.  They were amazing.

We hung out and did the Monster's Inc Dance Party.

My mom spent most of the evening somewhere on Main Street watching the show on the castle stage, and resting her knee.  It was nearing 11 so we headed there to find her, stopping for a few more family photos.

By the time we left people were lining up for the late parade.  The early one is more crowded and you need to line up earlier, if you can make it till midnight, do the late one and you will get more things done.

As we were leaving I noticed this sign in pumpkins- See ya real soon!

I'm not for sure how soon we will return.  It took us 2 years to save for this trip, so at least 2 maybe 3.  Downside- Cooper will be considered an adult in 3 years. Whenever it is- we will keep the memories!

Disney Day 7- Hollywood Studios

Wednesday was another free day.  I went ahead and scheduled things at Hollywood Studios thinking everyone would want to go back and sure enough they did.

Rockin' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror were up first.

As we were exiting ToT a guy walked past us who looked familiar.  Next thing I know my mom is calling out, Eric!!!  It was Eric Flack from Wave 3.  I'm sure he thought we were nuts but he was super nice.

We spent some time in Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground.

There are hidden gems throughout all the parks in Disney, Hollywood Studios has a Singin in the Rain umbrella.  If you pull on it water shoots out at you.

We did all our favorites again like Star Tours and Toy Story Mania, had some lunch, then my mom left to go back to resort.  It was the sunniest and hottest day so she wanted to swim.

We had another fastpass for Tower of Terror and Steve suggest we act like we are sleeping.

They took on the role of bell man very seriously.

We were headed out and decided to watch Beauty and Beast.  My kids love Gaston, of course they would.

Reading maps, all week long.

We swam again for a while before heading back to Downtown Disney for dinner.

We had dinner at Earl of Sandwich, it's a ridiculously good sub place.  I would suggest going for a late lunch or early dinner, it's very popular.

Somehow my boys ended up in the splash area and got soaked.  Problem was it had already cooled down and we had to ride a boat back, I knew they would be freezing.

What are Grandma's for then if they can't cave and go buy you a beach towel so you can keep warm.

We ended our night by watching some of the movie they were playing in the courtyard of our resort that night.
One more day to go.
