Trick or Treat

We took Cooper over to my sister's house for trick or treat on Friday. We didn't actually go up to any houses, we enjoyed the walk outside. We managed to get a picture of the grandkids (minus the baby, he was inside sleeping). Here is Hailey, Courtland, Emma the cheerleader, and of course Cooper the scarecrow. Sorry for the bad camera lighting, it was about the time the sun was setting.

Spaghetti Dinner

Friday night I made spaghetti for dinner, since Cooper is starting to spit out his baby food in disgust I thought I would try feeding him some spaghetti. This was the after shot. He didn't seem to enjoy the sauce, so he just ate the noodles.

1. I dream almost every night and sometimes I will wake up from a dream, go back to sleep, and continue the dream. In high school, my friends would make fun of me because I would come to lunch and tell them my dreams every day. It can get frustrating because I don't think I sleep very well when I do dream.

2. Unless you know me pretty well, I'm actually a very shy person. Sometimes, especially in school, this shyness was at times mistaken for rudeness. I'm not being rude, I'm just shy!

3. I cannot stand for clothes to be sticking out of dresser drawers and the drawers must be completely shut. I cannot walk out of the room until I fix them all.

4. I worked at Don Pablos while in college and one night I waited on Jared Fogel, the Subway guy.

5. I was once reviewed in a local newspaper. The same summer while at Don Pablos a review was written in the Evening News about the restaurant and the service. They never mentioned the server's name, however they explained their night in full detail and I remembered waiting on this couple and their two children. It was an okay review for food, but a good review for the service and the manager displayed it by the front desk, it was 15 minutes of anonymous fame.

6. This one is for you Karen- while living in the apartment if I went to be before you got home and I happened to wake up in the middle of the night I would get up and double check that our door was locked. I'm still a little particular about this now, just other night I was almost asleep and had to get up to make sure we shut the garage door.

Our Weekend- Scrarecrow take 2

Friday night Steve came home from work and wanted to go to Bass Pro Shop. We are not the outdoorsy type and have never had the need to go to Bass Pro and probably never will, but he just wanted to go and look at the fish. I must admit it was a nice free night and got us out of the house. Cooper is so curious about everything he didn't seem to mind. Saturday Steve's parents came over to watch Cooper while he ran some errands. We got his birthday present, something to wear for his birthday and Christmas pictures, a new winter hat, a couple of Christmas gifts, had lunch at Texas Roadhouse, and went to the grocery. I love marking things off my to-do list. In the evening we went to my aunt and uncle's Halloween party. They have a big party every year and it's a lot of fun for the kids. They turn their garage into a mini haunted house, it seems to be bigger every year. I had a little more fun that last year, I was pretty miserable and large. We just got back inside from playing, Cooper is down for a nap and after he gets up we are going to Pierce's birthday party. Should be a fun time. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Here he is trying out his new hat.

And finally trying to walk. Notice his wonderfully matched outfit.

My Little Scarecrow

Cooper is going to be a scarecrow for Halloween this year. I went back and forth on what to dress him up as, if I just wanted to borrow a costume, then I found the scarecrow on Walmart's website. It looked too cute and with shipping I spent less than $20. Cooper's pediatrician's office had a Haunted Halls last night and it was going to be the first of our four dress up nights. We had dinner at Chick-Fil-A, stopped by Target to pick up a Halloween bag for his goodies, then headed over to the dr's office. The place was a madhouse, first you could not park in the parking lot you had to use the open field next to it. He goes to the office behind Target in Clarksville, some people were using the spaces behind Best Buy and other stores. The line was wrapped around the building, it was crazy. We decided to stop by Steve's parents first and surprise them with an early Treat or Treater and then drive back by to see if it had calmed down a little. We went back past and it was still as busy as ever. We had left the stroller at home and it was already going on 6:30 and Cooper is usually ready for bed by 7:30 so we came on home. We still had fun though, we will just plan better next time.
I also want to say a big thanks to Sharp's Dry Cleaning in Jeffersonville. The zipper to the costume broke, they had it fixed, it broke again, then they went out of their way to get some Velcro and drive it over to the lady that does thier alterations so I could get it back in time. Otherwise it would have been later this week. Great customer service!!

Here we are all ready to go. I think Cooper likes his chicken.

Having fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house, what you don't see is him playing with his box of Animal Crackers he got for Halloween.

Speed Park

Today Gretchen and I took the kids to Speed Park in Sellersburg. We try to get together every couple of weeks and we figured we don't have too many good park days left. Today was a great day for the park. It was a little chilly at first but quickly warmed up. As always the kids had a blast, especially Pierce. I think Cooper just likes to watch everyone, next summer he will have a little more fun.

Friends, Fun and Football

Last night the Reid's came over to watch the Colts game. It has been FOREVER since we got together for a game. We had to wait for a 4:00 game since 1:00 is nap time for the kids and 8:00 is bedtime. It would have been a perfect night if the Colts won, they have been struggling this season. It was fun watching Cooper interact Levi, like he was looking up to him. We went outside during halftime to watch Levi ride his bike, it was too cute! He did such a great job at watching for cars and not going into the road. Here are some pictures. Thanks for coming over and for the pizza, he had a great time.

Levi and his bike.
Looking cute on the couch.

I need to brag a little

Everyday when we eat we try to teach Cooper how to fold his hands so we can pray. Usually he just smiles, laughs and does something else. Today for lunch I went to pray and when I finished I looked up and he was looking at my smiling with his hands folded laying on the high chair. It was the cutest thing. I wish I could have gotten a picture, it was priceless.

You got yourself in this mess

Ever since Cooper started pulling up he thinks he has to do it all the time. He pulls himself up and then sits back down and does it all over. Yesterday he was by the couch doing this and next thing I knew I heard him crying. This is what I found, I probably should have gotten him out sooner but I couldn't resist a picture and Steve got out the video camera.

Layne Matthew Jenkins

Cooper has a new baby cousin. My sister had her baby on Tuesday morning, he weighed 10 lbs 6 oz and was 20 inches. Yes you are reading that correct, I didn't mix up the weight. He was the same length as Cooper but almost 3 pounds more. Here is the only picture I got, I will get more at my niece's birthday party on Saturday. In response to Jenny's comment- This was a scheduled c-section and since it was her third child, she was actually only 38 weeks, her actual due date was Oct 28th.

Cooper's New Shirt

Grandma and Grandpa bought Cooper a new Halloween shirt. It has Mickey Mouse on it and lights up anytime you move the shirt. I think this might have kept him busy for hours.

Sunday Morning

Most people know that Cooper is an early to bed early to rise kiddo. It's not uncommon for him to be up by 6:30 ready to go. Because of this he takes a very early nap in the mornings. Church starts at 10:30 and since he is getting older it's getting harder to get him to take that nap before church and sleep long enough that he can be in a decent enough mood to handle the nursery. This is what I had to wake up when it was time to leave this morning. It just breaks my heart, he looked so peaceful.

Pumpkin Pickin'

Last night we went out to Deere Farms to pick some pumpkins. It was us, the Reids, the Bushes, and the Murphys. The plan was to go to Huber's, but I think this might have suited us a little more. It was smaller and less crowded and with 5 kids under the age of 4, it helped to not have a big crowd. We packed our lunch and had a picnic, the kids played in the hay bail maze, and we took a hayride to find pumpkins. Too bad it was almost 90 degrees outside, but still tons of fun.
Looks like Pierce found just the right one.
As usual Hope just looking pretty!Eric, Tracey, Levi, and Gretchen. Levi and Corbin in the hay bail maze.Steve took this shot of Matt and Corbin, I think it is adorable!Cooper and Daddy enjoying the hay ride.

Something doesn't seem right

Steve was home with Cooper last night while I was at Jazzercise. They were going out for a walk and since Cooper doesn't keep his socks on Steve put shoes on him to keep his feet warm. Well he started pulling and tugging at them more than usual. Does something seem strange to you?
That's right, they are on the wrong feet.

Who needs toys??

It doesn't get much cuter than this...

Club Mom

Today Cooper and I met Gretchen and the kids at the Greentree Mall for Club Mom. Club Mom is an event that is held the first Tuesday of every month (but not December) for moms with children in preschool age. They have entertainment, door prizes (which we did not win) and coupons to eat. Lynda Lambert from the Max 102.3 was there as well. We didn't stay long for the entertainment but it was still a fun outing and we plan to go next month as well. The entertainment this month was a Pirate story, I think some kids were a little scared. We got coupons for buy 1 adult meal get one kids meal free at various places to eat in the mall and outside. We went to Tumbleweed and although I knew Cooper wouldn't eat the whole kids meal, it was free and it saved me from ordering chicken fingers. He actually ate quite a bit of it. He ate almost two whole chicken fingers, some mac and cheese, and some of his jar food I brought. I needed to get some fruit in there somewhere.

Afterwards I took Cooper to see his old teachers at Bridgepointe where we went to Daycare. Poor thing had no clue who they were. I've been home from work for 4 months now which is the same amount of time I was back to work before quitting. Two of the workers tried to hold him but he just clung to me. One was off for the day so I need to go back sometime when she is there. I know she would like to see him as well.

I only took two pictures today, one of Cooper with his spiked hair (is it wrong to use product on a baby) and one of Hope, just being pretty. Sorry Pierce, you were watching the show.

Busy, Busy, Busy part 2

Saturday morning we work up bright and early and made the three hour trip to Terre Haute, well Blackhawk, Indiana to be exact. Steve's aunt and uncle live up there and since they have yet to see Cooper and can't physically make the trip down here, us along with his parents went up there. I'm glad I have made the trip to Bloomington several times otherwise it would have seemed like a very long ride. To those of you who have not driven to Terre Haute, scenic is an understatement. It's a little over an hour outside of Bloomington and talk about God's Country! I'm not kidding you we passed the smallest Walmart I've ever seen. Think Jay C size. I did enjoy the drive, I got to see parts of Indiana I had never seen before. Makes me appreciate my 10 minutes it takes me to get anywhere I need to go. Cooper did great as well, he didn't really sleep much on the way there so we were barely made it out of the drive way on the way home before he was out. He must have been worn out cause he went to bed early and woke up late on Sunday as well.
Finally Sunday was resting day. Sunday's are great, we get him to take a short early nap in order to make it through church, we come home eat lunch and play, then he goes down for a long afternoon nap. I used to take 2-3 hour naps on Sunday before he was born, so I'm very appreciative of my now 20-40 minute naps. I didn't get any pictures from the trip, but I did get this one last night. Notice how his cup is next to him but he wants mine which he cannot get anything out of.

Busy, Busy, Busy part 1

Last Thursday I took Cooper to meet his future girlfriend. I say girlfriend b/c when I was pregnant my child was supposed to marry my friend Tracey's little boy Levi. But Cooper turned out to be a Cooper instead of a Sydney, so that plan was scratched. Since then Levi has stolen the only other girl out there, Hope. Finally, someone else had a girl. My friend Sharon had her little girl on September 19th (see if they get married they shouldn't have trouble remembering each other's birthday b/c Cooper's is Nov 19th). Anyway, she is just as precious as ever. So little and dainty. I don't ever remember Cooper being that little. Sharon is doing great as well. Here is a picture of little Allie. She was asleep pretty much the entire time but I managed to snap this shot.
Friday night Steve, myself, and his dad went to our church appreciation dinner. Every year they have an appreciation dinner for those who volunteer in some way. Steve's mom decided it would be more fun to stay home with Cooper, which I think I had more work watching the two older ones than she did. We ended up having a great time. We had Qudoba for dinner and if the night would have ended right then it still would have been perfect. The entertainment for the night was a game of Don't Forget the Lyrics by the staff of our church. Let's just say it's pretty sad when the entire room can recite the lyrics to Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive, don't forget we are in church! It was a fun and free night out.

Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday I took Cooper's to meet my mom at work. They had a small pumpkin patch and refreshments for their employees and family. I didn't get any good pictures but someone from her work got a few. I love this first picture of Cooper sitting on the bail of hay. He just looks so darn cute and curious. This look pretty much defines who is he.

This is a co-worker of my mom, my mom, me and Cooper.

And finally my mom and Cooper.

We are going to Huber's in a couple of weeks so I will be sure to post some of that pumpkin patch later.

Cooper's first picnic

Yesterday we decided to have a picnic in our front yard for dinner. Nothing is easier to cook than peanut butter and jelly. It was such a beautiful evening. We had a lot of fun. Of course I enjoyed it, no cooking and easy clean up. How much better can it be? Afterwards we got out Cooper's miniature football, he was too cute, he figured out how to catch it with his feet. This is the best shot I could get.

I think he really enjoyed being outdoors.

Of course I couldn't forget the chocolate, and it was in the shape of a football. Doesn't get much better than this.

How can I forget a picture of my two guys!
