17 1/2 Months

I made it 17 1/2 months but I knew the time was coming, this morning was it. It started off like any other morning, Cooper was in a great mood. I gave him a few bites of a donut, we read a few books before his "real" breakfast, everything going smoothly. I walked into the kitchen to get something and he looked at me with this weird look on face, he started coughing and kind of crying out for me. He walked into the kitchen, I picked him up, and that's when it happened. I have officially been thrown up on. Not the most pleasant experience I might add. Cooper got scared at first and cried for a little bit but I got us both cleaned, and the kitchen floor, and he was back to normal. I was supposed to go to Jazzercise but I called my partner and cancelled. Luckily she could make it, she had called me yesterday to let me know she wouldn't be there because she can't work out due to a sore foot. But she could get up and get out and walk so I owe her big time. I didn't really know what to do next, this could just be a one time thing, I didn't know. So I took away his milk, replaced it with water and gave him a few Cheerios. About 10 minutes later he gets the same look and the same type of cry, so pick him up run to the bathroom and we have round 2. I called Steve and he had his mom bring over some Pedialyte, he almost got sick one more time but I don't think there was anything left. Steve took a long lunch and came home for a while. We got all the messy clothes washed, sheets and blankets washed and the best news, Cooper was able to keep down some toast and bananas for lunch. I just put him down for a nap and I am praying this is all over. I plan on keeping with the BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) diet until at least tomorrow morning. The other good news is that is does not have a fever. Oh and since we visited Melanie, Corbin, and Addie yesterday I called to warn her. I'm praying the Murphy's stay healthy as well. It's been a fun one so far!!!

Here's my baby eating his toast. He is probably thinking it's the greatest day ever, Mamaw comes over, Daddy comes home for lunch, I get my pacifier all day, and I get to run around in just a diaper. Life is great!!!!!
Here is our play area in the living room. And the path to the bathroom.

Vacuum

After seeing Hope's and Corbin's, I broke down and bought Cooper a gg-gg. Or as we adults like to call it, a vacuum. He loves ours so I thought he should have one of his own. Too bad they don't make miniature yellow Dysons.

New Toy

I'm not for sure why but Cooper has found something new in the house that he likes to carry around. It's totally disgusting, I know this, but could I really have resisted from taking a picture?

Little Helper

I love it how Cooper tries to do everything we do. Sunday afternoon we were doing some housework and of course Cooper wanted to help. He loves the vacuum anyway, if it were up to him we would vacuum everyday.
Here he is trying to get some stains off the carpet. Sometimes when Cooper drops, or should I say throws, his cup a few drops of milk get on the carpet. Just yesterday he dropped his cup and immediately started wiping the carpet with his hands trying to clean up the spot. It was too cute.

The New "Potty"

Over the past year or so Cooper has had different places that he goes to in the house to poop. At one time it was while in his exersaucer, then it was behind our kitchen table, now it's in the food cabinet. I found him doing this the other day, leaning inside and grunting.

Hope's Birthday Party

The Birthday Girl!!!! So I know I'm a little late but I thought I would post some pictures anyway of Hope's party last week. She is such a cutie, she is really interested in that shoe. Gretchen is an awesome host, the party began at 5:30 and at 5:35 she hollered outside for everyone to come get their food. That is my kind of party. The kids had an awesome time, I chased Cooper around the whole night making sure he wasn't hurting himself. We were both wore out. Thanks to the Bush's for having us, wished I could have stayed for donuts.

Hope, Levi, and Cooper with the bubbles. If you read Gretchen's blog you would have read about my child trying to drink the soap and water bubble solution.

Can you say BOOOOO!!!!!!!

I wondered why I didn't get any pictures of Pierce, this is why. Cooper isn't great at steps yet, we don't have any so he doesn't get practice. But he sure was interested this night.

Television Detox

We have started something new in our house, it's called television detox. We came to the realization this week that Cooper watches way entirely too much television. He will ask for something in particular; act like a monkey when he wants to watch Curious George, bark like a dog for Clifford, or snort like a pig for Super Why. He never pays attention to the whole show, he gets bored with it easily and wants another show. So we have hid the remotes and have not had the tv on in his presence since sometime on Tuesday. It has made a HUGE difference. He is entertaining himself better, not quite as fussy, and easier to calm down when he starts to get too out of control. The down side is I have to take my shower early in the morning when Steve gets up or in the evening. I always turned on PBS in our bedroom when I needed to take a shower. Today was also the first time this week we didn't watch Baby Einstein before nap, we have been out around nap time and he has fallen asleep in the car. It always relaxed him, so I probably will add that back in a few days. Wish me luck for tomorrow, Steve is going to Bloomington and it's me and Cooper all day and part of the evening. Thankfully it's going to be nice.

Night of Prayer for Rock

For those that are interested, Eastside Christian Church will be hosting a community event tomorrow night, Tuesday 4/14. We will be praying specifically for the ROCK organization and about the local sex businesses in our area. Members of the ROCK organization will be present. It is from 7:00-8:00 pm. If you cannot attend, please take a moment in that hour to pray for our community. Only God is going to be able to take down the filth that we all are one day going to have to explain to our children what that building is and what is inside.

Guitar Hero

Think I could send this in the replace the Guitar Hero commercial that spoofs Risky Business?

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter!!! We started off with a great service at church. Due to the large crowd and us quickly running out of room we had three services. After worship our minster only had about 20 minutes for the sermon. As he said at the beginning, some of the best stories are those that are brief. He was right! Easter is more than the resurrection, is about how God fixes all things that are broken. Jesus was broken, yet God brought him back to life three days later. The same is true for you and I, only God can fix us!

After church we headed over to Steve's parents for an awesome lunch, Easter baskets, and a recreation of Cooper's egg hunt in our front yard yesterday. He found out by accident on the first egg that it held Goldfish Crackers so each time he picked one up he opened and ate it. Let's hope he forgets next year since the eggs then will be filled with sugar. Oh and since when did Easter become like Christmas? Cooper got books, money, candy, toys.... we had to come home and go through all his old toys and bag up some of them for storage. After lunch it was time to come home where we all took a much needed nap. Did I mention he was up at 4:00 am standing in the crib asking for momma? I have no idea where it came from, he hasn't gotten up in the middle of the night since before tubes.

Anyway, here are some pics from the day, the first is last Easter, I just had to compare. He actually has almost the same exact look in these first two pictures. We told him we were going bye-bye to see Mamaw & Papaw at church, he must have wanted to hurry up and leave since he was trying to give Steve his shoes.

This kid knows what good candy is.

We couldn't leave Grandma's w/o kissing the duck.

And this is what we found about 2 miles from our house.

Waking Up

I am blessed to have a child who wakes up each day with a smile. This is pretty much how I am greeted every morning. And yes, he does offer me his pacifier, I must really be loved.

No He Can't....

I can't believe it, but my baby can reach up and get his own cup off the table. Where has time gone?

Another Moment Not to Forget

I was cooking dinner tonight and Steve was out mowing. I look over and Steve and Cooper are giving each other a kiss through our screen door.

One More

I have one more. Our childhood care director emailed this picture from today, it was too cute to pass up.

Easter Egg Hunt

Cooper had his first Easter Egg Hunt this morning. Our church has started a new playgroup on Wednesday mornings and today was our first outing. We had playtime, an egg hunt, and lunch at Perrin Park. I also invited Sharon and Allie along. Allie is the sweetest little thing. She loves to watch people and has the cutest little smile. Next year she can join Cooper in hunting for eggs. This year she just got to sit back and look pretty.
We tried to get a good picture of the two. These two are the best I could get. They may go in their wedding slide show one day. I think Sharon may have a good shot here, Cooper is looking at her camera, I asked her to send it to me so I may post it once I get it.

He was a little hesitant at first but once we got going he caught on pretty quick. Of course he wanted to put the egg in the bag then dump the bag out, but what can you expect from a 17 month old?

Look Mommy I got one!!!!

The egg or grass, which sounds better?

Check out our loot.

Bunco

We had our monthly Bunco last night and it was a dessert lovers paradise. I guess we didn't coordinate very well, everyone brought a dessert but Tracey, she made vegetable pizza. We ended up ordering pizza to balance it out. It was fun as usual. I won the boobie prize and the last Bunco. It would have been really bad if I hadn't gotten that Bunco to win the night. I just wasn't feeling it.

I wanted to share the brownies I made. You can click here for the recipe. I found it about 5 years ago and hadn't made it since that first time until last summer. Now it seems like I'm making it all the time. I called Tracey the night before telling her I couldn't decide on regular brownies or the brownies I made for Super Bowl. She talked me into the Super Bowl brownies. They are delicious. I made Steve take the leftovers to work with him today so I wouldn't eat the rest of them. Oh, I omit the peanuts in my recpie, only because there are some people that don't like peanuts. No other reason, they are still great no matter what.
Here is Cooper getting in on the action. Mixing the chocolate, peanut butter, and rice krispies
The finished product.

I couldn't clean up w/o first licking the spoon.

Here are some more brownies and no-bake cookies at Bunco.

Cookies, cupcakes, and more brownies.

More brownies and finally the veggie pizza.
