Chuck E Cheese

So after Cooper's all nighter with his grandparents, we decided Saturday would be an I'm sorry I left you day. Since it was so icky out we settled for Chuck E Cheese. There wasn't a whole lot he could but he did enjoy all the sights and sounds. He had a hard time eating, he just wanted to look around at everyone. I can only imagine what this place will be like a year from now.

I think he most excited about our table marker for the food.
Here he is enjoying some pizza, I love this face.

He did like Clifford, he kept pointing back to it and barking.

He was a little unsure of the school bus.

Once again, unsure of the car.

He wouldn't sit still in Clifford for a picture with Steve.

Steve and I got in on the action as well, I tried my hand at skee ball. I only won 5 tickets.
Steve played the Deal or No Deal Game, you opened suitcases for tickets. His suitcase only held one ticket.

Dinner & Movie

Friday night at Mamaw and Papaw's went great. Steve's brother stopped by thier house so Cooper played right up until 8:00 when it was time for bed. We had brought over his favorite books and he had no trouble laying down and falling right to sleep. Steve's mom called us after they got him down and she did say while they were changing him Cooper started looking around and asking for Momma, but luckily he wasn't crying. He did wake up and moan a few time, she said it sounded like he lost his pacifier, but he quickly found it and they didn't have to go get him until 7:15 this morning. I'm hoping to go out of town for one night for our anniversary in September, it will be five years, so Cooper will probably get at least two other overnight stays before then. I want to make sure he is comfortable and does well before I leave town. I'm such a worrier.

Our night was pretty uneventful. We started off with dinner at Puerto Vallarta and it was delicious. I haven't eaten there since I was pregnant, like first trimester pregnant. We then went to The Pie Kitchen and got some desserts to go and came on home. We were home by 6:30 and that was so weird. Just being home by ourselves. We have never gotten a babysitter for no reason before, I almost got in one my cleaning moods but the night was about relaxing. We watched Twilight and ate our desserts instead. I would advise anyone to read before you watch Twilight. I felt like I needed to explain things in more detail to Steve, not that he really cared. So, it was a good night, I missed my baby and I'm glad to have him home.

LOST

Sawyer - How are you doing?

Sayid- A 12 year old Benjamin Linus just brought me a chicken salad sandwich, how do you think I'm doing.

There have been some good quotes on LOST, but I think this one takes the cake.

How do you Pray?

I have no idea where he got this from but when we ask Cooper how to pray, this is what he does. We have tried to teach him how to fold his hands but I guess the boy really does know who he is praying to.We like to keep him with us for the first couple of worship songs during church then I will take him back to the nursery. Last week during one of the songs we asked him how he prays, we almost peed our pants it was so funny. I can't remember what we were even singing now but Cooper was raising his hand to Jesus the entire time.

I Love My Life

I can't even begin to put into words how much I love my life. There cannot be one single thing out there that is better than being a mom. Okay Steve, being a wife too! Seriously though, every time I walk through the house and have to step over random toys in very random spots, or chase after my son after bath time to keep him from through the tube of Butt Paste into the tub, or yell at him for trying to open the toilet bowl lid, I remind myself that this is the life. It doesn't get much better than this. And yes Trace Adkins, one day I am going to miss this. I already do.

Here we are tonight, he was desperately trying to get the camera.

Finally Steve was able to get a picture of me and my guy. By the looks of Cooper's face I think he was mad that he didn't get the camera.

Friday Night

It's been since last August, so about 7 months, since Cooper has stayed the night anywhere. We have decided to take the plunge again and have a date night Friday while Cooper has a play night with Grandma and Grandpa. Obviously we don't ever have to leave him anywhere but there may come a time when we would like to do something or perhaps go out of town so we decided to do a trial run. I'm confident he will do fine and of course if he doesn't I'm sure I will be a sucker and go get him in the middle of the night. I don't think it will come to that, he loves his grandparents and he will probably have more fun there than here. Anyway, we plan on going to dinner then drum roll please.....

I went out and got it last night. I'm so excited!!! I will probably spend the all of Cooper's nap time next week watching all the extras. Is it strange that I'm totally crushing on someone who is 22 but pretending to be 18?

At the Carwash

Tuesday night while out Steve had the idea of taking his car through the automatic car wash. His words were something like, "I wonder what Cooper will think?" I'll tell you what Cooper thought, "Get me out of here!" Poor guy, I once again had to crawl back in the backseat, I must say I'm getting good at this, get him out of the car seat and he clung on to me for dear life. I did kind of enjoy the 5 minutes of cuddle time though. Once he has back in the seat and we were on the road again Steve realized we just went through all that and it is going to rain for 4 days straight.

Groundbreaking

I had plans to write a blog on the groundbreaking ceremony we had at church last week, but myloving husband beat me to it. Click here to read his blog. Steve and I, along with Cooper, were asked to reprsent the young families of the church and be up front with a shovel to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony. He is much better at words than I am, I have never been very good at putting my thoughts into words. I thought instead I would share a few pictures from the day. It was a great honor to be apart of something that will live on long after I will. Posing for a quick family pic before the cermony.

In about 18 months this will no longer be empty land. How exciting?? Members of the church gathered along the perimeter of what will be the new building. I'm guessing there were a couple of hundered people that attended.
1-2-3 dig! I'm the third from the left, Steve is next to me with the hard hat on.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Due to the demands of a 3 month old and just returning to work, Steve got jipped on his 30th birthday last year. I decided to make up for it by getting him a 9 game mini-series package to the Bats this year. Of course this probably means it will be a yearly expense from now on, but Cooper is still free this summer and next and I'm sure he will enjoy it. This morning was the open house to pick up your tickets and Steve had to work so I invited Tracey and Levi to tag along. They had free popcorn and hot dogs, season ticket holders got tailgating chairs and the stadium was open so you could find your seats. It probably would have been more fun had it been warm and not raining, but I still think Levi enjoyed himself. I think my child was frozen the entire time and didn't make a sound.
Here is Levi with his new bat that his Daddy gave him money for. I can't believe how big he has gotten. He seems like yesterday Tracey was pregnant. Tracey took Levi down to get a closer look at the field.

Isn't he cute?

My Silly Boy

I walked in the living room this week and found this. He played like for a while, tripping over the scarf the whole time.

Where Did It Go???

I had myself prepared but nothing can really prepare you for a change in weather from 75 to 40 degrees. I still remain positive though, spring is on its way. There are even a few blooms on the bush out front. We did manage to take advantage of the warm weather earlier this week. On Monday we went outside to play ball, blow bubbles, take a walk, ride the truck and wait for Daddy to get home.
He can't quite figure out how to move the truck with his feet, so mommy and daddy still have to push him. We went to the corner and back.

At one point I asked him to hold my keys, I guess he was ready to go inside.

March 11, 2007

Two years ago today started off just like any other Sunday. Got up, went to church, probably napped, went to Kohl's with my mom, got a new pair of tennis shoes, went to Jazzercise, had salads for dinner, you get the pictures. You are probably wondering why in the world I remember all this crazy stuff. Well that particular evening when I got home from Jazzercise I decided to make a trip to Walgreen's, I had planned on going later in the week but I couldn't wait any longer. About a half hour later I was staring down at two little pink lines that would change my life as I know it. I remember like it was yesterday, the instructions said 2-3 minutes, more like 15 seconds. I hadn't even had time to wash my hands before I saw the positive results. I kept going back into the garbage can every hour or so to make sure it still read positive. That week we had small group and the plan was to wait a few weeks before we said anything, once again I couldn't wait. I'm not very good at keeping secrets or surprises. Here I am 2 years later with the most beautiful little boy I could imagine. Cooper- your smile brightens my life. I thank God every day for the miracle he has blessed me with. It is such a joy watching you grow each and every day. I pray you will grow to be a believer in God and walk in the truth each day. I LOVE YOU!!!!

Camera

What happens when I get out the camera to actually take pictures instead of letting Cooper play with it. This first one is too pitiful.

Mickey Mouse

I decided it was time to start using a plate with Cooper instead of putting food directly on his high chair. The only thing I could see in my mind was the plate being turned upside down or swept off the chair unto the floor. I know this is how they learn, but do you blame for not wanting to clean all that up? I found this plate at Walmart earlier this week, I know it's purple, but it's also Mickey Mouse. They have plates like this at Disney World, I couldn't resist.

Bubbles

A couple of weeks ago we had girls night out and Cooper and Daddy had boys night in. Would you believe it if I said it was the first time Steve has ever taken Cooper anywhere by himself? They ventured off to Target. Despite the fact we have plenty of bubbles at home, Steve felt the need to buy more bubbles and a bubble blower. I guess you can never have too many bubbles. Oh, he also walked away with new blocks as well. Here are some pictures of the fun they had that night. I guess it does pay off to leave the camera at home, I didn't miss out on my baby's good times.

First Zoo Trip of the Season

We decided, along with 95% of Jefferson County, to take advantage of the beautiful weather and head to the zoo. The place was packed, I don't even know if I've seen Disney World this packed before. It wasn't too bad once we got inside and we skipped all the indoor exhibits and we didn't run over anyone with the stroller so it was a good day. It was so much fun to watch Cooper react to the animals and make his animal noises. He seemed to enjoy the day and that is all that matters to me.
We can't leave without a quick snack and picture with the turtle.

I'm Still Here

I've had a couple of people ask about my lack of blogging lately so I thought I would give an update. I could give excuses about how there isn't a lot going on lately, which is true, but the real reason has been my obsession with the Twilight Series books. Saying I love to read is an understatement, give me a good book, not one where you have to think, but a good fun read, I will be entertained for hours. Book 6 and 7 of of the Harry Potter series were finished in just over 24 hours. Book 7 was awesome, I was 5 1/2 months pregnant and I kicked my feet up and read all weekend long. Anyway, I started Twilight about 2 weeks ago and I am almost finished with the third book. This has taken up all my free time (Cooper's nap time). I should get back around to blogging shortly. I currently do not have the fourth book, I've borrowed the first three so far and really don't want to have to buy the last. So until I can find one I will be back to my blogging days.
I hope to post some pictures this weekend if I can find our camera. I have no idea where it is, which is not a good thing. Let's pray I find it soon. It's the camera, case, and all of our memory cards, birth through 15 months, Disney vacations, etc. I just realized it was missing when I sat down to blog.
