Easter Weekend!

It's been a glorious weekend!  How can you top a weekend that was spent celebrating our risen savior?

We kick-offed the celebration by coloring some eggs.  The boys weren't all into it this year. I think it's probably because we rushed through it.  We just ran out of time this year.

Moving on to Saturday.  Cooper had his first game and it was also picture day.  Opening day and picture day is held on the same day making it crazy, especially since every team has a game.  Steve is helping coach this year, so of course I had to make jokes about going home with the coach :)

Our team, Cooper is #4 on the end.

To be honest I think he is going to be a little bored this year.  Last year they "pitched" to the kids and give them a shot before getting the tee out.  This year they are only using the tee.  Also, the balls are soft and unless you are in the field within a few feet from the tee, you don't stand a chance of getting your hands on it.  It's organized, but for the older kiddos (it's ages 4-6) they just get bored.

Love this sign.

After the game it off to Scott's for a cook out and egg hunt.  They love his neighbor's dog Katie.

Find those eggs!

Easter baskets were laid out and ready for Sunday morning.

My mom bought the boys their shirts and ties about a month ago, Cameron seriously begs me to wear his every Sunday.  I can't blame him, they are super adorable!

I hesitated to put this one here cause it's a horrible angel, but it's cute of my boys and I like to keep myself in the picture.  I think that's important.

We headed out to church with such an amazing worship portion that we almost didn't need the sermon.  Some days he music is all you need.
After church it was lunch with Steve's family and home for a nice relaxing Sunday.
A fun-tastic weekend spent with my little family.

With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.  The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.  And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the son of God?"
Mark 15: 37-39

"Don't be alarmed," he said.  "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.  He has risen!  He is not here.
Mark 16:6

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28: 18-20

Egg Hunting, Shopping, and Outdoor Play

I have a confession to make- I would LOVE it if 10 of our 12 months had weather similar to Saturday.  Sunny and 75 is perfect.  Give me a month of swimming weather and a month of cold and snow around Christmas, and 10 months just like Saturday.  That's what I want!

We started off our Saturday by heading to Greenway Park in Charlestown for their Easter Egg hunt.  My mom also brought along Emma and Layne.

Then we ran into Luke.

We were lined up ready to go.

On your mark, get set, GO!

I'm honestly surprised Cameron did so well, see that #5 out there egg hunting all on his own.

After the egg hunt we stuck around for hot dogs and prizes, and we won something!  It was a good prize too.  We got a bucket with Peeps, a puzzle, bubbles, a light up wand, and Avengers playing cards.  Perfect for my boys.
I missed getting Cooper's picture but guess who isn't afraid of the Easter bunny?

After the egg hunt we went to Kohl's with my mom and she treated the kids to a milkshake at Zesto's.

Cooper's goal when smiling now is to show his bottom teeth so you can see his missing one.

Since the weather was perfect we continued the fun by spending most of the evening outdoors.
Basketball, bubbles, jumping, all perfect play for two rowdy boys.

The only thing to make this day better would have been to have Steve home.  He went with Scott to IU's spring football practice.  At one point Cooper said, "It's not fair, Daddy didn't get to have fun with us today".

You might not be able to get me out of bed on Tuesday when it's in the 30's again.

A Big Night!

It was a big night in the Lee house tonight, a big, big night!

Cooper lost his first tooth!!!!

This bad boy has been loose for a while.  Just the past couple days it was barely been hanging in there.  He let me try and pull it a couple times but I didn't want to hurt him so I didn't try too hard.  But it has been driving me crazy! I went to the Y tonight and Steve sent me the above picture.  What?!  It fell out while I was gone?  He was brushing his teeth and out popped a tooth and down the drain it went.  Of course he was worried if he would still get his money or not since there wasn't a tooth to go with it

Good thing I have some cash on me cause it looks like the Tooth Fairy is coming tonight.  Although I'm pretty sure he knows it's fake.
The other one is loose too, but I think it's gonna be a while.

Finishing up Spring Break

So here we are, it's Sunday evening and school starts back tomorrow.  With extended days on top of that.  We made the best of our 2 weeks off with just as much fun the second week as we had the first.

My mom was in Florida the first week and brought back lots of goodies for the boys, and me too if I'm being honest.  They love their new dolphin and turtle goggles.

I try to go to Janelle's spin class on Tues or Thurs at 4:15.  With school not ending until 4:20 for the next 5 weeks, she can't teach it and I couldn't make it anyway.  As you can tell we are bummed about that.  Tuesday was probably my class of hers until the extended days are over.  Boo :(

I gave the boys the option of Chuck E Cheese or The Lego Movie on Wednesday and they chose Chuck E Cheese.  Cooper said someone can always buy the movie for us later when it comes out so let's go have fun.  After they played we headed to Texas Roadhouse since I had a coupon for a free kids meal then they played in the indoor mall playground for an hour.  It was a fun day.

Come Friday I had one more trick up my sleeve.. a trip to Bowling Green!  When Tracey and I took the kids to Columbus we talked about making a trip down there to see Gretchen and the kids.  They were only off the second week of our Spring Break, of course that meant Tracey would need to take Levi out but as it turns out West Clark ended up being cancelled due to flooding.
I posted this in Twitter, When in Kentucky, you do Kentucky things.

It didn't take long before we do what we do best. No, not eating, that came later.  And why do I always look so out of place with blonde hair.

We hung at at Gretchen's for a while before heading to Brittany's for lunch and play time.  All the kids played so well together and even G and I got in on the action.  Levi and Pierce challenged us to a game of basketball.  Not really sure why they picked me and her and not Tracey or Brittany, but we just went  with it.

We headed home a little earlier than usual, Pierce had baseball practice at 6 (our time) and Eric wanted to take Levi to Monster Jam at 7:30 so it ended up working out well to leave early.  This was probably the easiest and most well behaved trip we have had.  The kids were in the car for a total of 4 hours that day, with lots of hard play time in between, and there wasn't as single whine or tear shed.

It was a really, really, great way to end Spring Break.

We have 44 days of school left and 25 of those are extended days, but we are gonna kick butt!  Bring on summer!
