Drum roll please...... I finally did it, I ran 3 miles. Ever since I started the couch to 5k in early summer that has been my goal, 3.1 miles. I didn't care if it was in a race or on my own, I just wanted to run 3 miles.
The journey started off great, then lack of motivation and the heat go to me. After the Color Run I got my motivation back but it was still miserably hot outside. I got back in to jogging a few nights a week but I quit the couch to 5k app, I focused on mileage instead. I am slow, terribly slow. But hey, I'm out there right? I got up to 2 miles fairly quick but just couldn't get beyond that, either I didn't have enough daylight hours or it was too humid. I told myself once it got cooler I would bump it up. I started my jog Saturday evening and knew it was the day.
I use a Nike running app to keep track of all my runs and mileage and wouldn't you know it, it started to crash Saturday. I had to rely on my past routes and average pace to make sure I made it to 3 miles. I got to a point where I knew it would be about 2.5 miles so I checked my phone and my pace was right on. At the end I decided to add to it so by the time I got home it was probably closer to 3.3 miles. It was awesome!!!! Of course tonight I wasn't feeling it and only got in 2. I did it once, I know I can do it again.
