Bounce Time, headaches, snacks, and science

Looking back in past years it seems I get into a blog funk come January. I don't know what it is. We aren't doing much but when we are home I feel so busy that I never get out the camera. I need to get better at this. We did get out and have a little fun today, we had bounce time with my peeps group from church. Of course I didn't get out the camera. Chasing a 16 month old around and having a 4 year old who wants me to watch everything he does doesn't leave much time for a camera. Although we had a blast and Cooper loved it, it may be our last time for a while. They start charging at 16 months and it really isn't worth it to pay for Cameron when he spends half the time in my arms and the other half just running around not playing on anything in particular.

After playing for about 2 hours we had lunch and headed home. By this time I had a horrible headache. It had been hurting all morning but I thought with food or a caffeine it would go away but it never did. Cameron was napping but Cooper wouldn't. He did have some quite time which allowed me to lay down for a while, mix that with an Excedrin and all was better. Gretchen had pinned a fun snack on pinterest that I thought would be perfect to make. Who doesn't love apples, peanut butter, and marshmallows. I'm not the best at slicing an apple, you are supposed to make them look like lips and smiling faces.

They were yummy!

After our delicious snack we started our next science experiment; rock candy. Sorry but you don't get to see the results for about a week, that is how long it takes. I had to mix 2 cups of hot water, 4 cups of sugar, and a teaspoon of flavoring. That makes for one sugary mix, it was super thick. So I dipped the string in and then we have to let it dry for a couple of days, put it back in the mixture and let it sit for about a week. Hopefully it works, we shall see.

Maybe I will try and come up with some exciting and creative to do this week so I can have a fun blog post.

I know about the headaches. It is that time of year for them. That is sure a lot of sugar for a small jar. That is going to be so sweet. Hope it works for you all.

January is blah. I think we're all exhausted from the holidays dragging on & on....
It would be a great time to do a blog off. The blog off boss should really get on that. Pssssh. :)
