The band that played at our church this weekend is called Price Hill. We had the drummer Chris, his wife Mandy, and their two kids, Ramona and Max, stay with us. Our youth minister was right when he said we probably wouldn't see them much, because we didn't. I joked that I cancelled my trip to basically clean house. That's what we did all day Saturday was clean and do laundry. It is freezing in our basement and they would be sleeping down there on air mattresses so I washed every available sheet and blanket we had in the house. They were late getting in so after set up, practice, and dinner, they didn't get here until almost 10. They went downstairs, got their kids settled and went to bed. The band had to leave by 8:30 so we got up early and make pancakes and eggs for everyone. The rest of the bad really did get oatmeal creme pies for breakfast. Mandy texted the other wives so we fixed a to-go bag for them. Cooper had spent the night with Steve's parents. Somehow being down one child made our morning so easy! That was even cooking for 7 people and being out the door by 9. I guess that shows us who the one that slows us down is. Since the band had to leave earlier, I offered to give Mandy and the kids a ride. We got to church, showed them the youth area and that was the last time we saw them. They didn't get back to our house until 10:30 last night and was up and gone by 6:45 this morning. I feel bad that Cooper never did get to meet a real drummer. This also means no pictures either, but you can google them if you like and hear samples of their music. Their cd has 8 original songs and 5 covers, two of which happen to be favorites around here. We may have to buy it.
Although it appears I missed a wonderful weekend, I know we did a good thing. They have decided to let God take the lead in their life and it can't happen without people willing to open their homes for them. Have no fear, a Spring shopping trip is in the works.
