Putting me in my place

I am doing a Bible Study on Monday mornings on the book of James.  James 4:12 says:  There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy.  But you- who are you to judge your neighbor.

We told silly stories how at one time or another we were judgemental in some way.   Someone told the story of how she had been praying for God to give her a pure heart.  One day she dropped her daughter off at school and a little girl in the car in front of them got out and her hair was a mess.   She thought to herself, how could someone send their kid to school that way.   Once she thought that she immediatly regretted it.  The very next day, she dropped her daughter off a friend's house and that friend was going to take her to school.  Turns out her daughter was afraid to use their hairbrush and went to school without combing her hair.  God always seems to put us in our places.

God is putting me in my place right now.  I can remember before having kids that I always thought those monkey backpack/leashes were a little silly.  Even after having Cooper I thought that, he was a great stroller rider and would stay with me even out of a stroller and didn't mind being carried if I needed to.  Then in comes Cameron.  To say they are opposites is an understatement.  He doesn't like the stroller and doesn't like being carried.  He would rather walk.  It's not much of a problem but I'm only one person with two hands.  I can't hold on to his hand every single second that we are out some place.  Especially if I am watching after Cooper and pushing an empty stroller at the same time.  This is when I realized that yes, maybe the monkey backpack isn't such a bad idea after all.  After Bible Study I headed straight to Target.

They were having a ball with it today until Cooper pulled so hard it knocked Cameron down.
I am fully aware that some will judge me, which I expect.  Afterall, I was once the judger.

Thanks for the reminder! I always thought the leashes were cool but that is me in so many other areas. I use the monkey leash and people look at me. They are so handy though!! :)

UHM, I think the leashes are awesome!!! For all the exact reasons you said! You can't be everywhere at once & have 4 eyes! At least now they're cute & not so 'dog & leash' like years ago! ;)

We are all guilty of judging! Point is, to see it! Right? I think this will be super helpful for you!

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I think about how judgmental I was of people with kids before I had my own. Kids have a way of humbling you! ;)

How funny, not funny haha, but funny like God has a way of "talking to you" right when you need it! I saw someone with the monkey back pack the other night and thought I would NEVER have gotten one before kids. Then, you have kids, and well...
