Yesterday was the day we had been counting down for weeks, Cooper's birthday. He has to use 2 hands to show us how old he is now.
We woke him a few minutes so Steve could see him before work and to give him his gift.
He wanted the Lego Marvel Xbox game. I thought he might curl up and go back to sleep with it.
Unfortunately there wasn't much left time for sleeping so off it breakfast it was. The birthday boy requested donuts.
I skipped my Tuesday morning CBS class so I could have lunch with him. Let me tell you how cute that was. He even told me he loved having lunch with me. Kindergartners are fun, and they all want attention from the strange adult.
We had dinner at Logan's, again his request. I think he just wanted the bread. The server came to take our order and out of no where he started ordering his food, that is so unlike him. He's usually too shy.
He was so worried we wouldn't make it home in time to play his new game. We try to make no video game rule during the week, but we gave him a break for his birthday.
We ended the night with snuggle time. Just because he's six doesn't mean he is too old to cuddle with his momma.
This next picture is from this morning but it's too cute not to share. I had to make a ham for staff appreciation luncheon at school. I had to drop it off by 10 and I could have taken in when I took Cooper to school but that would have required me to get up at 4 to put it in the oven. Instead of taking him to school, coming back home, then leaving again, I asked Luke's mom if she could pick him up. I didn't decide this until after he went to bed, when he found out this morning he was pumped! He quickly ate and dressed and sat at his window watching for them. I can only imagine what that car ride was like, two very hyped boys. Both have birthday parties this weekend. Cooper's is Saturday and Luke's is Sunday.
I think he had a very good day for his birthday at school. He got a pencil from the office, a book from the library, and a baggie full of goodies from his teacher. He had a girl in his class have a birthday yesterday too and I talked to another mom this morning whose daughter celebrated yesterday as well. Her daughter said that there were like 9 birthdays at the school. It reminded me of something I saw on Pinterest.
How you like that Gretchen?
Have a good day everyone!
