Today was a Fun Friday, for a few reasons. First, it was my birthday, most importantly though, there was no school. Now that Bible Study is over and school is almost out we are slowly getting our freedom back. First up was a trip to the Pie Kitchen for some birthday treats.
This may look fantastic, but it wasn't all that great. The icing was pretty terrible actually. Luckily I got some apple pie as a back up.
Let's just say the boys really took advantage of birthday treats today.
I had to pick up a few things at the grocery and since Meijer was on the way home we stopped by there. I'm a Kroger or Jay C shopper so Sandy is new to them. Again, they thought it was the most fantastic thing in the world. Granted I had to carry Cameron out screaming and crying because he wanted another turn, but it also proves he loved it.
We spent the rest of the afternoon playing downstairs. After 2 years of living here they have finally gotten used to being able to play on their own without yelling for me every 2 minutes.
I almost forgot, our gate got knocked down earlier this week and since Cameron is fine with stairs now, we are keeping it down for a while to see how they do. It actually seems safer in a way because they don't have anything to step over to walk down. I feel like we hit huge milestone.
My mom took the boys and I to Texas Roadhouse for dinner tonight, Steve played in a golf scramble with guys from work, then to Dairy Queen for dessert. Told ya they would rack up on treats.
We played for a little more tonight then we settled down for a good night show.
I'm not gonna lie, I was ready for bedtime tonight. Cameron is going through a stage right now where he straight up wears me out. In some ways he is easier than Cooper was at this age, then there are things he does that Cooper would have never done. Yet, he's also the sweetest most lovable kid. He's been getting up at 6:30 every morning, he's usually in meltdown mode before we even leave the house at 8:40. Then 5 minutes down the road I'll hear him in the back seat saying, "sorry mommy". This too shall pass.
We have another busy weekend ahead; yard sale at Scott's if the rain holds, a special surprise for Cooper for "May the Fourth be with you", then dinner at my in-laws on Sunday. Time needs to slow down!
