Happy New Year

The Reid's were kind enough to host a small get together tonight for New Years... small if you count them, us, the Bush's, McCarty's, Murphy's, and Ausmus's. It was a house full. We didn't get to stay as late as we wanted, Steve has to work tomorrow and Cooper started melting down around 8:15. I know we are real party animals. Cooper just can't make it past his bedtime often, the kid loves his sleep. Add that and a full day with Steve's parents, he was wore out. It was fun while it lasted and we enjoyed visiting with everyone. Thanks for having us over. Things sure have changed in recent years, I'm sure I will be fast asleep before the ball drops!

IU Game

Earlier today Steve & I went to see the IU game, they opened conference play against Michigan and guess what... they won!!!! It was a HUGE win for Indiana. If you know what IU has been through the past few years, they pretty much started from scratch last year and had to rebuild the whole team, I think they won 6 games last year. So to start off with a win against a conference team is a huge confidence booster. They also lost one of their best players earlier this week with a season ending injury... so like a said HUGE!!!! Steve's parents gave us the tickets, they get a mini-series package every year, it's about 4 or 5 games but all when students are off campus. Usually the atmosphere is a little mild.. but today, the crowd was into it. I'm sure his parents are a little upset they didn't get to go to this one, it by far the best of the series. Don't feel too sorry for them though, they had their hands full with Cooper. My favorite part of the game was just prior to the start, they played a taped message from Coach Crean. He is such an awesome guy, click here to read a story on Steve's blog. Anyway, Steve said this was something he has been doing, he tapes a message just prior the games and it is specific to each game. It's not some generic message they play before all games.. he commented on the injury they just faced and the teams reaction. You can tell he is truly proud to be at IU. We had a great time and it was good to spend some time together. Thanks again to Mamaw & Papaw for our tickets, buying our breakfast and most of all for taking care of Cooper. We couldn't do it without you guys!

I love this, they have giant faces to wave while the other team is shooting free throws. The faces range from Tony Dungy, Vince Vaughn, Tony Soprano, Dwight Schrute, Jim Halpert... you just never know who is going to show up.

Visiting with Old Friends

Wednesday night Cooper & I had some very special visitors. My oldest BFF Melissa & her daughter Molly came over. Melissa & I go way back.....it's safe to say we have known each others our whole lives. Melissa also has a 9 month old, Dalton, but he had been sick so he stayed at home. We missed him. There was barely a weekend in high school that Melissa & I weren't together. But you know the story, different colleges lead to different lives and so on. It's funny, we talk more now than we did in the first few years after high school and Melissa lives in Colorado! We had a good time catching up and the kids had fun playing, although not together. Cooper would have rather played with Melissa than Molly. I talked it up the whole day about Molly coming over and for some reason he though Melissa was Molly. I have never seen him like that with a stranger. It was a ham! He even wanted Melissa to take him potty. Weird!!!!! I need to get him around more kids. I didn't break out the camera until right before they left and and this was the only shot we could get. Me blocking Molly and Cooper not looking at the camera. He was sad they were leaving and had a melt down afterwards.

Our First Snowfall of the Season

Okay, so maybe it's more of a dusting, but it's still fun for a two year old.

New Camera

Here is a comparison shot of our new camera. The first was taken with our old camera and the second was with our new. What a HUGE difference! I will say there were taken on two different days so the lighting may be different, but you can't deny how much better quality the second picture is.
