As I'm sure you know, they have a set of standardized criteria a child must meet to qualify. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably do the same thing. It's definitely not going to hurt to get him evaluated. And if everything is fine, you'll be reassured. You're the ultimate expert on your child. Hope everything goes well. :-)Jillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09707257038664075265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9124988711516344915.post-90296039166756627812009-11-22T14:41:44.419-05:002009-11-22T14:41:44.419-05:00I understand your concern. I almost had Levi referred @ 18 months, but decided to wait until 2 years. About 25 months, he started talking and hasn't stopped!! You'll know what is right and go with your gut!! I'm sure he will be talking your ear off before you know it! :)Traceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15773164402655479831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9124988711516344915.post-44150828619527970222009-11-22T08:02:59.946-05:002009-11-22T08:02:59.946-05:00Go with what your gut is telling you. I knew cognitively she was right on target, but she was lacking in speech. We went in with the attitude of if she qualifies great if not great.... she is on target. Either way we looked at it as a win win situation. She qualified for first steps b/c I stressed to them my concerns about her lack of speech and how I felt early intervention was key for success. Don't hesitate to voice your concerns and why you feel Cooper might need services. Lilly has improved so much over the last 6 month she is almost right on target. I am so thankful that we went with our gut feeling.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06555637461732626380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9124988711516344915.post-75724893750008234042009-11-21T15:21:27.427-05:002009-11-21T15:21:27.427-05:00Steve seems to think he will be denied.
